Job Description: 
Are you ready to join the team that is at the leading edge of Innovation at 10th Magnitude? Azure is the most innovative platform in computing today and 10th Magnitude is hiring Cloud / Data Architects. This person works within a team and drives high priority customer initiatives on Azure in collaboration with customers and Data information management and Analytics in the cloud. 
A Data Architect drives high priority customer initiatives, leveraging Azure data services to solve the biggest and most complex data challenges faced by 10th Magnitude’s enterprise customers. The Data Architect is a customer facing role, accountable for the end-to-end customer deployment and usage for solutions focused around Azure data services. This person will own the entire technical customer engagement including: architectural design sessions, implementation projects and/or Proofs of Concepts, production code development and reviews. The ideal candidate will have experience in customer facing roles and success leading deep technical architecture and design discussions with senior executives and will also be able to be hands-on to show the depth of their experience and expertise. 
Key Responsibilities:

• Interface with 10th Magnitude and partner sales/delivery teams to drive consumption of Azure data and analytics services, including experience in any or all of the following:
• All flavors of SQL Server in Azure; including Azure SQL Database, SQL Data Warehouse, SQL Server on IaaS- be able to guide a customer and determine best fit
• Hadoop, HD Insight, Azure Data Link, Azure Storage, Hadoop on IaaS
• Azure Specific Data Services- Machine Learning, Stream Analytics, Data Factory, Event/IoT Hubs, and DocumentDB
• 3rd Party IaaS and PaaS Services- if you have expertise in cloud data platform that you’ve implemented and/or managed in Azure that aren’t listed above but you’re thinking “Based on the job description they need to know that Ive implemented and managed Kafka clusters in Azure for 2 years” (hypothetical example), we can’t guarantee it’s always going to be a fit but we would love to hear about it
• Architect scalable data processing and analytics solutions, including technical feasibility and proposal development for Big Data storage, processing and consumption (e.g., development of enterprise Data Lake strategy, heterogeneous data management, Polyglot Persistence, decision support/BI over Data Lake) We really need you to be able to help a customer select the right data platform for a job
• Design, coordinate and execute pilots, prototypes or proof of concepts, provide validation on specific scenarios
• Drive the quality of the onboarding plan
• Report on progress of customer as business objectives; Ensure plan execution by Partners 
• Document and share technical best practices / insights with Engineering teams and the solution architect community

Experience Required:

• 5+ years of experience with deep understanding in databases and analytics, including relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle), Data warehousing, big data (Hadoop,Hive, Spark), noSQL, and business analytics
•  5+ years of success in consultative/complex technical sales and deployment projects (where necessary, managing various stakeholder relationships to get consensus on solution/projects) 
• Understanding of big data use-cases and Hadoop-based design patterns
• Knowledge of real time/stream analytics solutions for Enterprises
• Proven track record of building deep technical relationships with senior executives and growing cloud consumption share in large or highly strategic accounts
• Problem-solving mentality leveraging internal and/or external resources
• Exceptional verbal and written communication
• Oversight experience on major transformation projects and successful transitions to implementation support teams
• Presentation skills with a high degree of comfort with both large and small audiences
• Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies, business drivers and emerging computer trends
• Highly valued (not required): real world experience using Python (Client side and server side, devises and data processing/machine learning)
• Highly valued (not required): Experience using R; experience with Marketing or Risk analytics solutions for Enterprises
