Job Description

What You’ll Do:
• Contribute to all aspects of the services under the team’s ownership, which includes design, implementation, refactoring, automated testing, deployment, and uptime of the services
• Build technology the right way; for us, this means simple, well-tested services and tools that gradually grow over time, and that provide plenty of insight into production usage and performance
• Collect, monitor and analyze systems performance data for improved performance

Skills & Requirements

What You’ll Need:
• More than 2 years of relevant DevOps experience
• Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge and hands-on experience
• Experience with automation/configuration management using either Puppet, Chef or equivalent
• Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS is required)
• Proficiency in managing systems within multiple sites including fail-over redundancy & autoscaling
• Strong diagnostic, analytical, design and communication skills
• Ability to craft simple and elegant solutions to complex problems
• Experience with Agile development processes
• Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service
• Experience with Python scripting

Bonus Skills:
• Experience with Cassandra, MongoDb or other NoSQL databases
• Experience working with Apache Storm, Apache Spark or other open-source big data technologies
• Experience with CI/CD workflows and tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, and/or AppVeyor
• Experience with Atlassian suite of tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)
