POSITION SUMMARY
bswift, a leader in cloud-based technology and services for employee benefits and health exchanges, is currently seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer. Become an active member of a Systems Engineering team that loves to automate, secure, and learn about any technology it can get its hands on! We are a team of generalists with strong backgrounds and varying expertise across all parts of the stack. In this role you will help design, plan, implement and manage the core infrastructure technology that runs our raving application and software. You will be tasked with engineering and implementing our DevOps and Infrastructure as Code practices

Fundamental Components:
- Architect, Design and Implement new solutions to provide highly available and scalable environments to support the demands of todays business growth
- Help lead the effort to build out continuous integration and automated deployment pipelines within our infrastructure team
- Drive technical design and execution activities for moving existing on-premise infrastructure, server workloads, data and applications to the cloud (AWS)
- Analyze and improve a process with a bias toward automation
- Assist in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations to facilitate our rapid iteration and constant growth
- Develop tools and framework to improve operational efficiency and anomaly detection
- Mentor and train other team members who are less knowledgeable.
- Function well in a fast-paced, rapidly-changing environment, while having fun with your co-workers
- Participate in a 24/7 on call rotation with other team members for urgent incident response
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE desired:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent work experience and/or certificate program participation will be considered on an individual basis
- 3+ years of experience managing both hardware and software in Windows/Linux environments
- Experience working with hybrid cloud management products and solutions (AWS, VMware)
- Great familiarity with configuration management systems such as Puppet or Chef
- Understanding of networking and storage concepts
- Proficiency in scripting languages PowerShell, Perl
- Strong interpersonal communication skills (including listening, speaking and writing) and ability to work well in a diverse, team-focused environment with other engineers, Product Managers, etc.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with VMware, Terraform, NGINX
- Experience with public cloud services, such as AWS or Azure
- Comfortable working with SCM and build tools such as Git, Jenkins, TFS
- Familiarity with monitoring systems, alerting, and trend analysis
EDUCATION
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
