The Role:

Our technology team in Chicago is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help support and extend our platform for our rapidly growing lending businesses (Balance Credit and Chorus Credit). We are seeking very strong hands-on candidates who want to be part of an exciting and challenging technology team in a startup atmosphere.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Work collaboratively with the engineering team in a DevOps culture to build & support systems in AWS using contemporary technology like ECS/ECR, Postgres RDS, EC2, Lambda, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudFront, ELB/ALB, S3 and more.
• Work closely with teams of engineers to gain a deep application-level knowledge of the systems and contribute to the design decisions being made for applications.
• Build and maintain fully automated CI/CD pipelines for systems and software deployments, including infrastructure configuration, testing automation and deployment automation.
• Take ownership of the scalability, performance, reliability, security and maintenance of Braviants production revenue generating websites.
• Manage and monitor all production systems and infrastructure.
• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
• Help in maintaining security, disaster recovery and redundancy strategies.
• Assist and support developers with infrastructure requests
• .Assist in providing tier 1 support for systems.
• Stay up to date with tools, trends, and technologies in the FinTech space.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years’ relevant hands on experience in a DevOps role working on production systems.
• Experience managing and supporting mission critical virtual environments on AWS
• Hosted Infrastructure: Experience building out a reliable website architecture in AWS.
• Data Platforms: Postgres RDS
• Scripting and automation skills in various scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc)Experience with Git (Github & BitBucket), Jira and Confluence.
• Ability to thrive in startup environment with heavy workload, competing priorities, and less structure than more established company
