Our Ideal Candidate has: 

  • 2+ years of experience at a startup or technology focused company

  • Strong background in Linux/Unix Administration

  •  Experience with automation/configuration management using either Ansible, Puppet, Chef or an equivalent

  •  Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS, GPC, Azure - AWS Preferred)

  •  Experience with Monitoring and Log Management solutions (DataDog, SumoLogic or Splunk, etc…)

  •  Experience with Build and Deployment Pipelines (Jenkins, Bamboo, etc…)

  •  Strong experience with Relational Databases (Postgres or MySQL)

  •  A working understanding of code and script (Bash, Python, Perl and/or Ruby)

  •  Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.

What you will be doing: 

  • Provide 24x7 support for web applications & databases when required.

  • Develop system requirements for new application development and enhancements with Architects.

  • Automate as many repeatable tasks as possible in collaboration with the Software Development team by working with Systems Management and Reliability & Development Operations teams.

  • Lead troubleshooting of issues that occur in production and coordinate the activities required for resolution with developers and architects.

  • Develop an understanding of the application architecture in order to facilitate quick root-cause analysis for issues that occur in test and production environments.

  • Assist with design and maintenance of web server infrastructure and custom developed applications.

  • Coordinate maintenance and optimization of infrastructure used by the Software Development team to support automated deployments and continuous delivery of applications.

  • Design custom monitoring dashboards for application performance monitoring in test & production environments.

  • Manage continuous integrations and deployment infrastructure to ensure our development pipeline runs smoothly as possible in support of our lean development SDLC.

  • Design and code IT infrastructure automation code to manage server/application/network and virtualized resources within our DEV/TEST/PRODUCTION infrastructure
