We’re looking for a leader to join our rapidly growing Digital team in a newly created Digital Application Development Lead position. The perfect candidate will be an experienced people manager who also possesses depth in Systems Engineering, DevOps, Agile Scrum, SAFE 2.0 and has passion for developing leading edge customer-centric, digital applications. As the leader on the Digital team, you will work on tools, processes and with people that enable our systems to scale at a rapid pace. You will be hiring, developing, and leading a team of software engineers specialized in digital technologies. – Get in on the ground floor, stating something new. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working with open stack frameworks and developed/deployed products to either Azure or AWS Cloud.

The Digital Application Development lead must have a mix of business and technical capabilities that will lend instant credibility across the team and provide the confidence to challenge existing assumptions to achieve the desired outcome.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, build and run a world-class engineering team to deliver Digital Applications for Trustmark
• Develop strategic technology plans to provide continuous product releases for all Trustmark Digital Applications
• Mentor and guide a team of technology professionals
• Provide hands-on technical guidance
• Work closely with IT shared services and Business leaders to deliver technology solutions.
• Participate in the development and implementation of a mobile technology strategy for Trustmark.
• Promote the use of Agile delivery methods throughout the organization

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant work experience
• Experience in Agile methodologies to structure and execute product releases reliably and with high quality
• Broad knowledge and experience managing a team using distributed technology including but not limited to
  • Experience in Angular JS, Spring Boot, React, or other comparable Java frameworks
  • Kafka streaming framework
  • Working knowledge of creating RESTful API’s, Web APIs
  • Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, and other frameworks such as Bootstrap.
  • Content Management Systems
  • Exposure to security concepts/best practices
  • Knowledge of Agile Scrum (SAFE 2.0)
•  Minimum of 5 years sustained experience as a manager of technical teams developing application using modern technologies in Azure or AWS
• 5+ years of experience in digital strategy.
• 5+ years of experience in customer experience strategy.
• Strong background in Agile methodology.
• 5+ years of proven executive leadership.
• 5+ years of full life-cycle software development.
• 12+ years of professional experience.
• Experience working with remote teams
• Comprehensive understanding of distributed systems and event streaming/messaging protocols
• Experience establishing or extending CI/CD pipelines using TFS or equivalent
• Experience integrating with Mainframe or other legacy technologies is a plus
• Experience with web application and micro-services design
• Experience with Test Driven Development practices
• Experience/Knowledge of developing mobile applications
• Experience in all aspects of digital transformation.
• Ideally, exposure within insurance / financial / healthcare arenas.
