As a manager within our Software Engineering Group, you are passionate about solving business problems through innovation and engineering practices. You will apply your leadership and technical expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, and become a trusted partner with stakeholders to deliver cutting-edge applications enhanced by AI. As a technical lead and manager with 8+ years of experience in front end technologies (especially React), you will be building and leading a team creating a new Digital Marketplace to better utilize Big Data at Chase. You will engage closely with Business, Architecture, and other Engineering teams in a high performing creative Agile environment. You welcome the challenge of being involved in a strategic, high visibility project within the company. You enjoy the nimbleness of our startup group, building new products and services, within the stability of an established company and market leader.
Your responsibilities will include:

  • Act as player and coach; p rovide technical direction to the team, as well as hands on coding responsibilities while you build your team out
  • Bring your entrepreneurial leadership spirit as we build a new organization
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback, recognizing and developing employees, identifying and managing risks
  • Lead the design, development, review and maintenance with continuous integration and deployment of new features and services
  • Work in the latest Cloud AWS stack
  • Develop secure software and remedy any vulnerabilities
  • Support Business in troubleshooting and fixing issues in production
  • Follow and promote Agile practices
  • Research new technologies and adapt quickly
  • Work with multiple distributed teams to deliver end-to-end solutions
  • Advise, collaborate, and synthesize feedback from customers and product groups
  • Present and demo to users, senior leaders and technology groups
  • Promote excellent focus on the customer


You come with a wide range of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Managing a team of 4-8 engineers (front end or full stack)
  • Expert in the latest front-end frameworks (Especially React)
  • Experience with integrating middleware technologies/channels (restful interfaces, streaming interfaces, API, etc)
  • Experience with responsive web design
  • Developing rich applications with HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins)
  • Know when (and when not) to use front-end software design patterns (e.g. asynchronicity, data binding, modules, MVC, objects, promises)
  • Understanding of multithreaded software design is a plus
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance, and software improvement
  • (Preferred) Understanding of Java/J2EE is a plus
  • (Preferred) Demonstrated curiosity about Applied AI
  • (Preferred) Full stack development experience including having built back end and frontend UI
