Overview
The Marketing Store is looking for a Director, DevOps to join our technology practicewho can lead a team in a complex technology environment and evangelize the DevOps methodology through effective communication and collaboration with cross functional teams. This role will require strong knowledge of CI/CD technology, infrastructure, integration, automation and application support as well as experiencementoring team members and growing a DevOps practice. You will work closely withsenior management, developers, DevOps engineers and project teams across ourglobal offices.
Responsibilities
- Establish and lead best-in class service engineering capabilities in the DevOps team
- Manage the delivery of high performance and scalable cloud services
- Responsible for maintaining a high level of service availability
- Perform quality reviews, manage operational risks, and operational issues
- Responsible for the software and tools to deliver high quality software
- Responsible for leading the CI/CD maturity journey of the engineering organization
- Establish a culture of high performance, transparency and continuous improvement
- Provide estimation, timeline & cost inputs for budgets working in collaboration with business system leaders
- Responsible for goal setting, performance management, coaching, mentoring and development planning
- Ensure that programs, initiatives & projects are delivered on-time and within budget
- Manage risks appropriately and plan proactive mitigation
- Regular status reporting including but not limited to budget, project & support status
- Work with Development teams on SDLC methodologies and adoption/implementation across a DevOps methodology
- Evangelize DevOps best practices to the broader tech organization
- Mentor new and existing team members
- Identify opportunities for automation and optimization and build it into the deployment cycle to improve quality, productivity and efficiency
- Ensure change management processes are followed through related environments
- Manage the collaboration with corresponding cross functional teams for issues/requests requiring code changes or support with appropriate priority
Desired Skills & Experience
- 5+ Years of systems experience
- Understanding of web based technologies (Nginx/PHP/Java)
- Understanding of database technologies (MySQL/Mongo/Cassandra)
- Knowledge of networking and Linux shell
- Basic Python, Ruby, and or Java knowledge
- Experience in administering, troubleshooting, deploying, and configuringcloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure)
- Self-directed and can operate without intensive management
- Has strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical and critical thinking skills required
- Ansible / Puppet / Chef / continuous integration technologies
- Understands business priorities and business logic
