Groupon is hiring a leader for its EDW Data Engineering team. This is an opportunity to lead several data engineering teams within Groupon’s EDW organization. In this environment we are using big data technologies like Hive, Spark and Pig. We want you to help us drive Groupon’s data warehouse to continue to migrate to big data technologies, to transition to the consumption of streaming data and to improve on our agile development approach.

Responsibilities:

• You will manage several data engineering teams

• You will spend your time implementing agile development processes

• You'll drive continued improvements on ETL processes and drive migration to streaming data ingestion

• Build and lead effective teams in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment

• Continue the transformation of our tools, process, metrics and monitoring

• Drive continuous improvement of the platform by measuring against KPI's

• Deliver world-class data transformation processes

Requirements

• Direct leadership and management of global organizations over 20 people across multiple time zones and locations

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

• A minimum of 10 years supervisory experience in managing global technical teams in a fast-paced, dynamic customer-facing software business.

• Confirmed experience building and leading global high-performance technical teams

• Deep understanding of Agile and Continuous Delivery concepts and tools.

• Strong knowledge of all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

• High tolerance for ambiguity and an appetite for technology
