Peapod Digital Labs (PDL) is looking for a skilled, highly motivated, and self-driven Director, Mobile Engineering to join our team located in Chicago, IL or Quincy, MA. This leader will oversee a dedicated team of mobile (iOS/Android) engineering talent tasked with defining and building out the new native mobile experience platform to serve the eCommerce needs of the customers of our leading grocery brands.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced hands-on engineering leader with extensive expertise driving highly scalable software development projects. The candidate should be a true technologist with experience in developing scalable mobile applications (Android/iOS,) integrating with backend APIs while thriving in a fast-paced environment. The candidate will be familiar with Agile development processes, have strong process improvement aptitude, and willing to roll up their sleeves to dig in on any project or problem.

The Essentials In Your Cart - The required ingredients 

• A Bachelors or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• 8+ years management experience
• 10+ years of leadership roles on SW development programs

• Strong background in mobile architecture and software delivery
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
• Confident leader who can prioritize and analyze tradeoffs, communicate clearly and compellingly and effectively influence internally and externally, across organization boundaries.
• Drive effective teamwork, communication, collaboration and commitment across multiple disparate groups with competing priorities
• Comfortable working on multiple projects at once
• Ability to work within a fast-paced environment  
• Effectively communicate to various levels of management
