What will your day look like?

You will be responsible for directing technology transformation initiatives, and will have oversight of teams that manage and support key initiatives for technology and the enterprise.  The incumbent is responsible for implementing the project management process for technology initiatives and will create the methodology and metrics to measure the value of technology investments and business value delivered by those investments.  In addition, the Director is responsible for ensuring that our portfolio of technology projects and initiatives are clearly aligned to business strategy and will closely manage and provide visibility into our technology spend.  The incumbent will work cross-functionally throughout the technology organization as well as across Alliant and will strive to build and maintain working relationships with other team members, vendors, stakeholders and other internal business partners to ensure Alliant’s strategy and goals are being met through technology solutions. 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading multiple teams in the execution of multiple, complex projects and technology transformation initiatives for the credit union
  • Responsible for leading the Project Management team which consists of project managers that are leading technology and cross-functional projects
  • Responsible for leading the Agile Transformation team, and driving continuous improvement in agile delivery for the credit union
  • Fully leverage relationship management skills to successfully identify technology solutions for Alliant and partner with divisional leaders to create technology roadmaps
  • Maintain regular communication and interaction with technology team members and all business partners
  • Maintain awareness of and provides updates to leadership on the financial impact to the organization regarding technology project investments and operational expenditures
  • Promote cooperation, negotiation and communication among and within teams; provide consulting services for customers, team members, business partners during the planning, design, implementation and testing of initiatives, upgrades and/or changes
  • Identify, analyze, and lead the implementation of technology solutions to drive improved member experience, productivity, operational efficiency, and cost reduction
  • Provide guidance and support for developing meeting material and presentations for executive presentations, organization wide meetings and other forums
  • Develop and manage communications for the technology organization
  • Responsible for developing and managing the process for delivering technology initiatives that meet all information security, compliance and organizational policies
  • Provide portfolio updates to the technology team and report out to the Executive Team on a regular basis
  • Develop the methodology and metrics to measure the value of technology spend and return on investment for the organization
  • Create and maintain portfolio reporting and dashboards for the organization’s use
  • Partner with finance to lead the annual planning process, ensuring that finance has the information that they need to complete the budgetary process
  • Deliver superior results through quality execution and best practice adaptation
  • Demonstrate courage, ability and agility to understand and address organizational transition in real-time; establish expectations for the unexpected
  • Translate strategic and operating plans into meaningful direction of projects, goals, priorities and activities; delivering on strategy through quality execution and best practice adaptation
  • Capture, analyze, and understand the internal environment, team dynamics, and talent capabilities to address organizational refinement, agility and growth
  • Champion Employee/Internal Customer Engagement, employee development and all cultural hallmarks through a strong leadership signature and a growing command of Alliant’s leadership competencies
  • Continually assess and provide discerning development, insightful coaching and talent utilization/optimization for direct reports
  • Apply High Performance Management practices in leading an engaged workforce in order to effectively leverage the full potential and talent of this function
  • Provide a structural and consistent approach to ensure that individual development plans are in place, performance management is consistent, performance management process is respected and followed, and coaching and feedback are provided on a regular and dynamic basis.
  • Work with your direct reports and help seek out growth opportunities for your reports; continually challenge reports to maximize their engagement and productivity
  • Help propagate messaging across the organization that fosters a broader knowledge of Technology, promotes collaboration and influences constructive and positive change

Qualifications

What makes you a great fit?

You’ll be a great fit if in addition to the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in either Management, Finance, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, required; Master’s degree preferred, and you have:

 

  • 10+ years’ relevant experience, required
  • 5+ years’ leadership experience and demonstrated ability to lead and develop a highly effective team. required
  • PMP certification a plus, but not required
  • Formal training in or experience with agile methodologies and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)
  • Ability to think creatively to identify ways to improve team success
  • Strong hands-on capability and spirit of leading by example
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with employees at all levels within the organization
  • Ability to influence without authority
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills and the ability to build robust cross-functional relationships
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and decision-making skills
  • Ability to successfully adjust to changing needs in a fast paced, dynamic environment
  • Exhibit a high level of integrity, trustworthiness and confidence, and represents the company and its management team at the highest level of professionalism
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
Alliant employees can contribute up to $2,750 annually to their Health Care FSA and $5,000 to their dependent care FSA.
