The Opportunity:

We're looking for a passionate Director, Web Development, responsible for all aspects of the development tasks, including front-end, backend, and database development, to create and continually enhance enterprise-level web and eCommerce sites. You will work with cross-functional teams to identify and recommend digital solutions for the appropriate technical, business, and human factors. You must know HTML / CSS and JavaScript and proficient with JavaScript frameworks, CSS frameworks, and the ability to add a solid creative contribution to interaction design. This includes, but is not limited to, templates used on Litera.com and another related web/digital infrastructure that engage users and meet business requirements.

A Day in the Life:

  • Manage the day-to-day production and client-facing website operations, program rollouts, maintenance, and overall quality control for multi-regional websites
  • Direct and manage the daily workflow of all web marketing campaigns, including proposal development, campaign activation & maintenance of existing pages
  • Evaluate emerging technologies in mobile-first web experiences and provide leadership and perspective to multiple departments
  • Liaise with Product Marketing, Marketing Program Managers, Content Experts, and Strategic Marketing to help build, source, and maintain site content (copy, creative media, layout); grow our presence on the web, increase visitor engagement, and drive web-based lead conversion

Role Progression 
Within 1 month, you will:

  • Lead and guide Web Development team members in the implementation and execution of web development projects. Oversee day-to-day, hands-on web development across projects
  • Work closely with stakeholders and developers to identify problems and goals, map end-to-end user flows, build prototypes, and launch new products and services. Scope and integrate M&A websites with Litera.com corporate site
  • Review functional and technical requirements for web-based marketing and e-commerce channels. Super attentive to technical details with an appreciation for design, SEO, and UX
  • Instrumenting A/B tests and content targeting/personalization as well as coding email templates

Within 3 months, you will:

  • Manage and build a development team as well as a hands-on web application, Windows services, HTTP handlers, and web page development
  • Report on the monthly web analytics that will serve as KPIs for the website (sessions, new users, bounce rate, individual page performance, conversions, etc.), roll up to divisional leadership and help inform forward-moving strategies around our web properties
  • Lead and guide Web Development team members in the implementation and execution of web development projects
  • Oversee day-to-day, hands-on web development across projects. Work closely with stakeholders and developers to identify problems and goals, map end-to-end user flows, build prototypes, and launch new products and services

Within 6 months, you will:

  • Maintain best practices and ensure that protocols are followed regularly. Evolve processes, offerings, deliverable formats, and when you see opportunities to make improvements
  • Work in tandem with marketing and marketing operations to ensure the proper integration of analytics, event tracking, and additional marketing technologies
  • Interact with software developers at the backend code level
  • Coordinate with 3rd party providers and oversee the support and monitoring of consumer-facing e-commerce properties
  • Ensure web development Q/A practices are implemented and met across all work and projects

About You:

  • 10+ years of experience in front end web development with solid hand-coding expertise in Java, JEE, Spring, APIs, Design Patterns, SQL; Some experience with the latest HTML, JavaScript, CSS standards, and responsive design frameworks (Bootstrap)
  • Deep experience with content management systems (CMS) and digital experience platforms (DXP) from top vendors (Preferably, Episerver + Sitecore, also Adobe, Acquia Drupal, ContentStack, Contentful)
  • Proficiency in managing and updating a portfolio of websites with frequent updates and a strong eye for design and layout and web/mobile UI/UX
  • Willingness to have fun, laugh, and be part of a great team invested in collective success
  • Experience working in legal practice, enterprise, or SaaS industry
