Job Description Summary

To meet the growing demand for product and technology training, we need exceptionally talented, bright and driven people. If you have previous IT training experience and can communicate highly technical concepts to audiences at different levels of product knowledge, we’d like to speak with you. We are looking for a dynamic, organized, self-starter to join our Employee Development Training Team. Here's your chance to work as a Trainer on a growing training team, with high visibility and significant internal customer impact. The successful candidate is an experienced technical trainer, ideally with hands-on experience and/or in-depth knowledge of software architecture and virtualization technologies. The ideal candidate has both corporate training experience along with an IT background or the equivalent IT training experience. The Employee Development Trainer is directly responsible for facilitating training on company-wide education courses to support CCC’s Learning Academy, with a focus on our Products & Technology (P&T) groups. Courses will include, but will not be limited to, time management, productivity, business enhancement, execution and technology. The Employee Development Trainer will research and work with technology training vendors to curate IT courses for CCC’s P & T groups and seek to understand their continuing learning needs. Additionally, the Employee Development Trainer is accountable for providing on-going training on CCCIS products and services for multiple audiences, as well as creating training materials and training administrative management. Experience with online training is a requirement. The ideal candidate pays strong attention to detail, has superior listening skills and takes direction well. The candidate should display a sense of urgency and the ability to handle and complete a variety of tasks or multiple projects in a fast-paced environment to meet departmental deadlines. He or she will work in a team environment with a positive attitude and interact effectively with all levels of personnel within our organization. He or she will also display initiative to continually keep training materials and training initiatives current and engaging. Other requirements include the ability to practice good judgment at all times, handle confidential information and materials appropriately, and handle difficult situations with the utmost composure and professionalism. The right candidate will accept and provide constructive feedback in a positive manner and ensure consistent and repeatable training processes and procedures.

Job Duties

  • Helping to shape the ongoing strategy and mission of the Learning Academy as it pertains to our Products & Technology (P & T) group
  • Assisting in the development & maintenance of technical training content, lab exercises, presentations, and accompanying materials
  • Contacting and scheduling internal and external lecturers and vendors for specialized training and IT training to the P & T group
  • Delivering instructor-led classroom training to end-user customers and partners on a regular schedule
  • Working with key vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate, effective training content
  • Creating and conducting training across many delivery channels including in-person, live, online, or by video
  • Engaging equally well with both a business and developer learner 
  • Committing to growing your technical and training skills as needed
  • Assessing training needs through surveys, interviews with employees (Needs Analysis), focus groups, or consultation with managers, instructors, or outside vendors
  • Providing additional product training to various CCC workgroups, as needed, including but not limited to, New Hire Training Programs as well as product update training
  • Assist in the administration of all training activities, including but not limited to, registration, scheduling facilities, coordinating, evaluation, tracking and production as needed
  • Using measurement and reporting tools developed for each program to assess the effectiveness of training, including testing and feedback from participants or others
  • Acting as a training advocate across the organization by educating departments on the role of training, roles/responsibilities of training personnel, training processes and contribution of training to the organization, as needed
  • Continuously researching and implementing best practice ideas for self-development and enhancement of CCC’s training function regarding current facilitation and delivery formats

Qualifications

  • Bachelors’ Degree required; Computer Science/Computer Information Science degree/IT-specialization degree or certification strongly preferred
  • 2-4 years experience as a technical trainer / product trainer/ Employee Development Trainer/ sales engineer / professional services consultant or equivalent technical position required
  • 1-2 years of experience in programming, systems architecture or systems administration or applicable degree is a strong plus
  • Recent coding experience in one or more of the following languages: Java, .Net, Perl, PHP, Ruby or Python is a strong plus
  • Training experience in insurance claims and automotive industries, a strong plus
  • Experience designing and developing instructor-led content with technical subject matter content
  • Continuous desire to learn and help others understand deeply technical concepts
  • Excellent oral presentation skills, interpersonal communication, and writing skills
  • A strong “stage presence” and ability to manage a classroom of adult learners
  • Self-sufficient, self-starter with proven success taking ownership of training projects
  • Be creative, able to work independently, a problem solver
  • Proven experience successfully delivering ILT and VILT courses on open source technologies to highly technical audiences

Experience with virtual classroom training tools such as WebEx, Zoom, etc.
