The Industrial Power Systems Division currently has an opening for an Application and Installation (A&I) Engineer. In this role, you will provide engineering support to CAT dealers / Perkins Distributors and direct OEM customers through Concept, Design, Testing and Reporting product development stages. Lead technical support for the Americas sales, Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) and New Product Introduction teams (NPI). Support Americas A&I network training initiatives.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Support dealer/distributor and direct OEM's projects via A&I, taking them to production
  • Assure Americas dealer and distributor A&I capability
  • Support global team with deep A&I expertise on Americas products
  • Manage A&I services for Americas region
  • Support Industrial sales teams by providing A&I technical information to drive additional engine sales
  • Build strong relationships with selling dealers and distributors in the Americas region
  • Support the creation of Mechanical, Electronic and Test Procedures A&I Guides to support NPI projects for IPSD Large Engines
  • Manage and track A&I documentation in Salesforce to assure production readiness to meet agreed to dates
  • Provide Voice of Customer for NPI to assure engine systems meet customer requirements
  • up to 50% travel required


Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must have a BS degree in Electrical, Agricultural, Mechanical Engineering with 2 years of experience or Engineering Technology 2 year degree with 5 years in related industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of the physical design and functional characteristics of diesel engines, aftertreatment systems.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, ability to crisply and concisely convey complex information, including the development of presentations for executive management
  • Ability to deal with sensitive issues, mentor and coach and/or persuade others on new technologies, new applications, or potential solutions.


Top Candidates Will Also Have:

  • Prior A&I experience
  • Prior distribution/customer experience
  • Prior sales experience
  • Working knowledge of the physical design and functional characteristics of machine applications
  • Strong written and oral communications skills, ability to crisply and concisely convey complex information, including the development of presentations for executive management


Additional Information:

  • Up to 50% travel
  • Mossville IL or Seguin, TX
