We are searching for an Engineering Manager who can provide thought and people leadership to technical teams. In this role, you will use problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills to help the team operate effectively and efficiently. We are searching for an Engineering Manager who can manage process and delivery timelines, provide input into strategic decisions, and can guide technical activities to ensure customer needs are met. Pay for this role starts at $123,300 and can go up from there based on background and qualifications. Additionally, you will be eligible for a meaningful performance based bonus each year.
As an Engineering Manager, you will:
- Lead your team of 5-10 software engineers & product owners
- Run an agile development process that adds incremental value to the platform with each iteration
- Define and track measurable goals for the team
- Remove obstacles to team progress
- Build, Maintain, and Support the services your team is responsible for
- Collaborate with product management, other engineering teams, quality assurance, operations, and other functions to develop best-in-class solutions
- Ensure realistic project plans are developed and successfully executed within approved budget, scope, and quality constraints.
- Nurture your team. Hire well, manage performance, provide coaching, mentorship, and career development for your staff.
- Coordinate team communications to ensure clear understanding of performance expectations and emerging issues.
- Use problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills to help the team operate effectively and efficiently.
- Keep your coding skills sharp by contributing to the codebase
Skills and Qualifications:
- BA/BS or higher in Computer Science or a related STEM field
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on experience building scalable web services
- Previously led or managed a team of 5 or more engineers for at least 3 years
- Experience running an agile development process
- Hands-on experience with Node.js, Python, or Golang based web services
- Hands-on experience with React, Angular, or Vue applications
- Experience with unit testing and/or Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Experience with devops technologies (docker, AWS, apigee, CI/CD)
- eCommerce experience
