Built out of necessity, Mac & Mia is a tech-enabled retail service that is saving busy parents hours of time by offering a remarkably easy way to personalize, build and accentuate their children's wardrobes. Our team curates quality items from an offering of unique, specialty brands that are then hand-selected and delivered to your home – They will fit, feel, and look great on your little ones. Ultimately, we are removing all of the friction from traditional shopping channels, and replacing with delight, discovery, and convenience.
As Front-end Engineer you will:
Own core development for front-end application components. Automate testing and quality assurance for components developed
Maintain clear documentation of front-end systems and applications (including in the code)
Stay attuned to, and leverage, emerging trends and best practices for front-end development
Collaborate daily with engineering leadership, product management and design teammates to plan, prioritize and streamline cross-functional product development efforts
Balance experimentation with production
Mac & Mia is building an all-star team, and you should apply if you:
You have 2+ years of relative experience building large-scale, consumer-facing products
You are experienced working with modern javascript front-end frameworks (React, React Native, Angular, etc.) across mobile and web. You are comfortable working with Node.js or Java back-ends
You value automation and open-source libraries that create efficiencies and reinforce quality for all applications and infrastructure management
You are known for being a great communicator and use various tactics (pictures, metaphors, storytelling, etc.) to improve understanding
You show humility when you are right or wrong and have the confidence to admit mistakes and collaborate on solutions
You are passionate about building products that feel fun and intuitive to use. You are naturally curious. You are self-motivated and organized

The Front-end Engineer role is based out of Chicago- our offices are located in Chinatown
