Blueshoon is a growing Chicago-based web development agency that works with clients ranging from Fortune 100 companies to smaller, local business owners. We provide on-demand tech team replacement, as well as, traditional website development services and ongoing hosting and management. We have been in business since 2008. Our offices are in the Ravenswood neighborhood, just a few blocks from Andersonville.

Responsibilities

• Developing and maintaining Laravel-based applications.

• Building custom websites on WordPress platform.

• Providing website support and management for clients via ticketing system.

• General web development, including building landing pages, small web applications, and ecommerce.

Requirements

• Strong Wordpress development experience is a must. This is our go-to CMS for clients, and we need candidates to be able to hit the ground running.

• Experience with PHP / MySQL and Laravel or other MVC Frameworks.

• Strong knowledge and experience with HTML/CSS/JS, bonus points for experience with SASS & NPM.

• Not being too scared of Github.

• Ability to accurately take a psd / sketch design to the web.

The Ideal Candidate

• Has familiarity with ecommerce platforms like WooCommerce, Shopify, Lightspeed, or Magento.

• Has familiarity with Adobe Products and/or Sketch.

• Has familiarity with basic UX/UI principles.

• Takes initiative and works hard, we're not looking to micro-manage anyone.

• Has a willingness to learn on their own.

Salary and Benefits

• $70-75K, depending on experience and ability
