Position Overview: GoodPix is seeking a self-starting, full stack engineer to help us scale our platform for growth using modern architecture and best-in class tooling. Our current tech-stack is MERN built on AWS. As we scale, we will enable alternative back-end enterprise solutions (such as .NET Core). The right candidate for this role has start-up experience, thrives in a fast-paced environment and loves being part of a founding team where their contributions are mission critical. When able to return to an in-person environment, our office is in the convenient and thriving River North neighborhood of Chicago.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, enhance, code, test, deliver and debug software.
  • Re-architect/develop a new back-end system
  • Write high quality code in C# and Javascript that is easy to maintain and test
  • Create unit/integration tests to allow for automated regression testing of new features.
  • Participate in product level architecture/design sessions.
  • Recommend actions to improve procedures and standards.
  • Identify and communicate technical trends and/or emerging technology.
  • Build new API access points for integrations with brand e-commerce sites
  • Managing existing databases to ensure proper functionality and optimization
  • Participate in an Agile environment using Scrum software development practices, Automated unit testing, Continuous integration, Code reviews, Version control systems, Automated build processes

About You:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience developing software and experienced with the MERN tech stack
  • Extensive knowledge of .NET Core framework
  • Experience with MongoDB
  • The ability to architect modern architectural principles (microservices, clean/onion architecture, domain-driven design)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or relevant degree preferred.
  • Experience with frontend JavaScript based frameworks with a preference for React and React Native
  • Experience working in an Agile based development environment, using Agile concepts such as Continuous Integration, TDD, and Paired Programming.
  • Experience with AWS.
  • Proficiency with git
  • Familiarity with proper documentation and uniform coding
  • You collaborate well with other team members when brainstorming, designing, and implementing new solutions.
  • You enjoy fast-paced entrepreneurial environments where you can solve difficult problems using current technologies and tools
  • You take pride in modeling engineering best practices and writing code that is clean and scalable
  • Passion for new technologies
  • Care deeply about writing high-performance, reusable code for components that will be used across our product
