We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to join our Global Enterprise wide Infrastructure organization. This position would have the following responsibilities:

Responsibilities:

  • Design, quoting, coordination (implementation/ removal) and support of X86 based hardware.
  • Vendor Management
  • In-depth knowledge of current and emerging principles.
  • Operates independently; has in-depth knowledge of business unit / function
  • As subject area expert, provides comprehensive, in-depth consulting and leadership to team and partners at a high technical level
  • Carries out activities that are large in scope, cross-functional and technically difficult
  • Role is balanced between high level operational execution and execution of strategic direction of business function activities
  • Conducts preliminary analysis
  • Responsible for direct interaction with different committees and/or management
  • Strategic in developing, implementing and administering programs within functional areas

Required:

Experience designing and configuring hardware platforms

Enterprise level Data Center experience

Excellent oral and written communication skills

In-depth Functional / Industry knowledge

Highly flexible and adaptable to change

Technical skills / systems knowledge

Preferred:

A College or University degree and/or relevant 5-10 years proven work experience

Experience with Standalone HP system (DL model)

Experience with HP Blade systems (BL models)

Nutanix HCI system experience

Experience in hardware planning and forecasting

Vendor Mgnt (RFPs, Quotes)

**Job can be located in our downtown office or our Naperville office
