Description
This position will be responsible for overseeing the undercarriage heat treat processes for Building BB in East Peoria. Technologies include furnace hardening, induction hardening, nitriding, pit carburizing and HVOF.
Job Duties
The engineer will work with operations to ensure the area is safe and velocity goals are met. This includes creating documents such as standard work, control plans, PFMEAs, SFMEAs, emergency procedures, near miss investigations and corrective or preventive actions. He or she will be involved with new product introduction, recipe development, metallurgical / dimensional testing and PPAP documentation. This position will interface with hourly employees to conduct product audits and work with 3rd party maintenance suppliers to maximize equipment performance and uptime.
Basic Qualifications
BS Materials Engineering.
Minimum of 1 year experience with Microsoft office software suite.
Top Candidates will also have
Strong planning, communication, organization, problem solving, and prioritization skills.
Knowledge of Process documentation such as standard work, control plans and PFMEAs.
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement, safety investigations and root cause analysis.
Knowledge of New Product Introduction and PPAP.
Understanding of Caterpillar part prints and specifications.
Knowledge of heat treat equipment controls (atmosphere control, heating time/rate, quench media controls, scan rate, etc).
Experience calculating OEE and equipment capacity.
Experience with SAP routings.

The location for this position is East Peoria, IL
