Summary:

 

The Senior DevOps infrastructure lead with proven track record of hands on work in building/leading dev ops practice including solid experience (configuration, usage) in following technologies -

  • Kubernetes & Helm

  • Jenkins & Jenkins Pipelines

  • Kafka

  • AWS (basic knowledge, Associate level)

  • Terraform, Ansible

  • Monitoring: Splunk, ElasticSearch, Prometheus, AppDynamics

 

This person in addition to leading from the front will also act as Product owner for the DevOps team with specific mandate around -

  • building CI/CD pipelines

  • SDLC guardianship

  • Identifying and recommending tuning to SDLC process to achieve optimum improvements in code hygiene (such as VCS branching models, Code quality standards, test coverage standards, etc.)

  • Drive buildout of necessary infrastructure to support automated testing including integration testing and QA

  • Drive buildout of automated multiple prod parallel testing environment along with automated monitoring

  • Provide guidance and support enterprise software security

  • Drive development of tools that will allow zero downtime to developers for developing and testing their software

 

A major influencer & strategic thinker, this person should also mentor developers and collaborate across multiple cross functional team to achieve the desired outcome. Solid cloud experience (preferably AWS) with project experience in developing enterprise cloud architecture, in developing resilient hybrid cloud solution is a must have.

 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Actively participates and lead requirement analysis and reviews to identify missing or incomplete requirements. 

  • Derive design of highly performing, scalable, secure, reliable and cost optimized solutions. 

  • Product Owner & Lead for the DevOps team

  • Follows agreed upon SDLC procedures to ensure that all information system products and services meet:  both explicit and implicit quality standards, end-user functional requirements, architectural standards, performance requirements, audit requirements, security rules are upheld, and external facing reporting is properly represented.

  • Assists Production Support by providing advice on system functionality and fixes as required

  • Communicates in a clear and concise manner all time delays or defects in the software immediately to appropriate team members and management

  • Assist with departmental and new employee training

Qualifications:

  • 10+ year of experience in building large scale, data-centric solutions. Out of which most recent 3 years must have been spent in running a DevOps team or as product owner for DevOps team.

  • Java experience required..

  • Experience with high speed distributed computing frameworks AWS EMR, Hadoop, HDFS, S3, MapReduce, Apache Spark, Apache Hive, Kafka Streams, Apache Flink etc.

  • Experience with distributed message brokers Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ, Amazon Kinesis, etc.

  • Experience with cloud technologies and migrations. Experience preferred with AWS foundational services like VPCs, Security groups, EC2, RDS, S3 ACLs, KMS, AWS CLI and IAM etc.

  • Expert knowledge of DevOps tools. Eg Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, Maven/Gradle, Nexus/Artifactory and CI/CD pipeline etc.

  • Experience developing and delivering technical solutions using public cloud service providers like Amazon, Google, etc.

  • Degree in computer science or engineering preferred

 

Education and/or Experience:

  • BS degree in Computer Science, similar technical field or equivalent experience

 

Certificates or Licenses:

  • OCP Java SE 8 Programmer Certification is a plus

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate to Senior level is plus
