As a DevOps Software Engineer, you'll combine expertise with a never-ending quest to create innovative technology through solid engineering practices. You’ll know what good looks like in software engineering. You’ll be passionate about clean design, continuous delivery and testing, and high performance reactive systems. You’ll be bored by waterfall, repeat work. You’ll be constantly looking to re-invent and simplify and raise the bar.

You'll join an inquisitive team of technologists who are already developing and deploying applications to the highest standards. Your passion and experience in one or more technology domains will help solve complex and mission critical problems, internally and externally.

About the Team

Our Corporate & Investment Bank relies on innovators like you to build and maintain the technology that helps us safely service the world’s important corporations, governments and institutions. You'll develop solutions that help the bank provide strategic advice, raise capital, manage risk, and extend liquidity in markets spanning over 100 countries around the world.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Hands-on development and programming experience on the Java 8+/Java EE stack including Functional and Reactive development models
  • Hands-on experience with a cloud platform such as Pivotal Cloud Foundry, AWS, or container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, Groovy and Jenkins
  • Hands-on experience with BDD practices and writing Cucumber Steps
  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets 
  • Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
  • Good experience on data streaming (ex. Kafka), data messaging and event driven systems.
  • Experience with modern agile software delivery practices such as scrum, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), TDD, and BDD, DevOps, and automation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required for the role
  • Expertise in application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Advanced knowledge of architecture and design across all systems
  • Proficiency in multiple modern programming languages
  • Knowledge of industry-wide technology trends and best practices
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals
  • Passionate about building an innovative culture
