Position Summary: As a Lead DevOps engineer at Litera you are responsible for automating the build and deployment needs that are a part of the overall SDLC process. The Lead DevOps Engineer will work with various scrum teams across the organization to develop hooks/workflows between various tools and moving parts in the SDLC.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Provide technical knowledge and leadership as an engineer supporting multiple scrum teams 
  • Maintain and monitor the automated build and continuous integration process to ensure efficient build execution, and facilitate resolution of build/release failures 
  • Monitor and manage all server environments, ensure that each are healthy and have the latest patches and security components installed 
  • Provide system documentation as needed, including architectural diagrams, process flowcharts, and data flowcharts 
  • Work with developers to execute software releases, configuration updates, and other release requirements 
  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing software and infrastructure issues. 
  • Design and implement DevOps best practices, establish standards and policies for managing source code and continuous integration/delivery 
  • Contribute to security automation through the development of compliance and audit tests as code, integrated into the CI/CD pipeline 

Qualifications: 

  • 7+ years of experience buildingdelivering and deploying SaaS/web/desktop applications 
  • Experience with CI/CD tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, Docker, Maven 
  • Experience with code management and branching 
  • Experience with scripting using PowerShell and/or python 
  • A proven track record designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines and pipelines-as-code (we use Bamboo) 
  • Experience managing Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows systems 
  • Experience with installer tools (i.e. InstallShield, WiX) is a bonus 
  • Good understanding of standard networking protocols and components such as HTTP, DNS, TCP/IP, Networking and load balancing 
  • Knowledge of monitoring and logging software (i.e. ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, AppDynamics, NewRelic) 
  • Familiarity with configuration-as-code tools such as Ansible and Terraform 
  • Experience automating provisioning, deployment and configuration in mixed cloud environments (Azure/AWS) 
  • Strong knowledge of source control management and tools 
  • Strong analytical abilities in order to analyze the effectiveness of software releases and make improvements 
  • Experience designing, scaling continuous build, integration and deployment process from dev to production multiple times a day 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment where iterative changes may need to go out in rapid succession
