Lead DevOps/Automation Engineer
The automation engineer is responsible for automating key operations processes. The engineer is well versed in leading automation tools, such as Puppet, and able to build out tooling in common scripting languages such as Python. The engineer is able to work with internal customers to understand requirements and then design and implement workflows to deliver capabilities. The engineer employs sound documentation, test processes and works within the service management process. The engineer understands the differences between configuration management and workflow orchestration and will automate workflows accordingly.
The engineer shall perform the following duties:
· Work with leadership to maintain prioritized backlog.
· Work within an Agile orient development environment
· Build workflows leveraging enterprise capabilities
· Support ADDM (Asset Discovery and Dependency Mapping) team
· Follow TransUnion best practices and tools. Act as a champion for opportunities to empower Level 1 technicians with automation resources.
· Act on call support according to a schedule
Qualifications
Mix of development and operations experience. Strong operations background.
Demonstrated full stack understanding across multiple data centers.
Experience with multiple automation frameworks (Puppet, Ansible Tower, Rundeck, SCCM)
Experience with RunDeck or Ansible Tower a plus
Experience with ADDM discovery tools a plus.
2+ years building operational automation
5+ systems administration or engineering background
