As an Lead Engineer within our team, you will work within a geographically dispersed, agile team and be responsible for writing quality, accurate, testable, secure code; with the right architecture. Aside from core programming, in this role you will work with the business stakeholders, product management and other technology teams to match technical solutions to business needs. You are individual that has experience in the full stack, front to back architecture and engineering of an application with a passion for growing skills, solving complex and challenging problems. Strong emphasis on engineering practices, test driven development, continuous integration and delivery within cloud native applications as well as technical leadership and working with others to mentor and grow other programmers.

Knowledge and Skills:

        • BS in Computer Science or higher as well as related field of study or equivalent experience.
        • 10 + years of professional experience in software development.
        • Extensive knowledge of Java, Java web applications, and modern Spring Frameworks (Spring Integration, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud Services, Spring Security, etc.).
        • Strong understanding of Object Oriented technology and standard Java development frameworks, including OOD and OOP skills.
        • Experience with messaging tools like RabbitMQ, Kafka, MQ and Solace.
        • Strong understanding of RDBMS / NOSQL databases concepts.
        • Strong Experience in using IDEs like Eclipse, IntelliJ IDEA, etc.
        • Strong Experience with modern web application frameworks (AngularJS, ReactJS, Drupal, Javascript, XQuery etc.).
        • Experience with Version Control System like GIT.
        • Experience with XML/JSON, Jackson, etc.
        • Strong Experience with Unit Testing, Mocking and testing frameworks with an emphasis on code coverage with TDD/BDD.
        • Strong Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) using Bamboo, Jenkins, Concourse or other CI/CD tool.
        • Strong Experience with creating technical solutions that are pragmatic and align to business needs.
        • Strong collaboration, communication, and coaching skills; ability to navigate social and political issues inside the organization.
        • Ability to solve complex technical problems.
        • Ability to mentor and grow other software engineers
        • Extensive experience developing and delivering products in a collaborative, agile team environment.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

  • Experience working with microservice architectures and 12-factor cloud native principles.
  • Experience with MarkLogic and XQuery.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (PCF, AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Experience with Kotlin.
  • Practical understanding of Domain Driven Design concepts.
  • Practical experience with DevOps processes and mindset for delivering products in a collaborative, agile team environment.
  • Experience implementing a role-based security model and configure permissions and privileges.
  • Experience developing enterprise applications that support high traffic volumes.
  • Experience with containerization and container orchestration technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
