Position Summary: Litera is looking for a lead QA Engineer to provide expertise on scrums teams using scrum methodology on how software is built with quality in mind and assured through manual and automated tests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the automation road-map to increase coverage from unit to UI tests on the team
  • Provides QA expertise through instruction of team members on how to test our software and lead by example
  • Design, code, and document automated test cases within a defined framework
  • Develop software interfaces between the system under test and the automation framework
  • Encourage integration and promote obtaining shared goals with team members
  • Establish and evolve formal QA processes, ensuring that the team is using industry-accepted best practices
  • Willingness to promote and participate in new initiatives
  • Balances best practice decisions with delivering high business value (right vs right now)
  • Communicates unacceptable risks to quality
  • Improve standard operating procedures to ensure consistency in the way we test software
  • Lead agile planning from a QA perspective by establishing tasks/estimates
  • Ask the right questions at the right time to reduce the introduction of quality risk
  • Follow through and communicate design decisions to everyone on the team
  • Work with Architects to ensure the team's direction is in line with enterprise vision
  • Work with DevOps to ensure QA environments are configured to be production-like
  • Oversee all aspects of quality assurance including establishing metrics, applying industry best practices, and developing new tools and processes to ensure quality goals are met


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent years of experience
  • 5+ years of relevant QA technical experience with at least 3+ years in a lead role
  • Knowledge of test case design techniques like boundary, decision tables, and BDD (Behavior Driven Development) / TDD (Test Driven Development)
  • Excellent knowledge of test automation methodologies, best practices (i.e. Page Object Model)
  • Experience with implementing a test automation framework/tools (i.e. Selenium, Robot, Capybara)
  • Experience building tests / testing software with tools that include C#/Python/Java/RSpec within desktop and web environments
  • Experience with deployment tools, build/release automation and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience with large data set creation, back-end testing (SQL), being able to validate information as it flows throughout the system
  • Exposure to Azure, Amazon AWS, and/or other cloud platforms preferred
  • Experience with troubleshooting installs, server performance and monitoring logs
  • Working collaboratively with team members in a dynamic environment
  • Passion and drive for automation and sound engineering practice
