Job Description
TITLE: Lead Quality Engineer
DUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Lead Quality Engineer in Riverwoods, IL to prepare and maintain the Test Driven Development guidelines and ensure they are proper applied across all development teams. Plan, monitor, and control the testing activities and tasks. Provide input into the estimation of the testing effort. Collaborate with QA architects and System Quality Engineers to build the test strategy and propose the best framework solutions. Prepare the software test plan. Analyze requirements during the requirements analysis phase of projects. Keep track of the requirements from the project and manages Change of Scope (COS). Schedule the project effort in conjunction with the PMO. Pair with scrum developers as needed and guide the team on utilizing the test automation frameworks and the applicable testing practices, including Test Driven Development (TDD). Engage with system level test team to ensure all test activities are in place. Check for timely delivery of project milestones. Arrange the hardware and software requirement for the test setup. Escalate the issues about project requirements (Software, Hardware, Resources) to Project Manager / Test Manager. Identify training requirements and forward it to the Project Manager (Technical and Soft skills). Document, implement, monitor, and enforce all processes and procedures for testing as per established standards defined by the organization. Lead, guide and monitor the analysis, design, implementation and execution of the test cases, test procedures and test suites. Ensure content and structure of all testing documents / artifacts is documented and maintained. Assign tasks to all testing team members and ensure that all of them have sufficient work in the project. Act as the single point of contact between Development and Testers for iterations, testing and deployment activities. Review System, Integration and User Acceptance Tests prepared by testers. Ensure proper configuration management of the test artifacts produced and traceability of the tests to the requirements. Collaborate with the scrum teams to ensure proper testing techniques are used and that the XP model is followed where applicable. Recognize when test automation is appropriate and, if it is, plan the effort, select the tools, and ensure training of the team. Evaluate the automation framework solution and testing best practices of the organization to observe continual improvement. As test execution approaches, make sure the test environment is put into place before test execution and managed during test execution. Schedule the tests for execution and then monitor, measure, control and report on the test progress, the product quality status and the test results, adapting the test plan and compensating as needed to adjust to evolving conditions. Prepare the agendas for meetings, for example: Weekly team meeting etc. Frequent status check meetings with the team, communication by means of chat / emails etc. Track and reports upon testing activities, including testing results, test case coverage, required resources, defects discovered and their status, performance baselines, etc. Attend the regular test team meetings. Send the status report (Daily, Weekly etc.) to the Test Manager. Review reports prepared by Testers. Assist in the timely resolution of quality/test challenges at the team level providing guidance, training, technical support and where necessary mentoring individuals. Drive quality, setup test infrastructure, ensure quality of delivery, provide test awareness and promote best test practices using the Shift Left approach within scrum teams and across the organization. Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and four (4) years of experience in job offered or related occupation: developing test strategies and frameworks; designing and implementing Test Driven Development and Behavior Driven Development testing methodologies; designing, evaluating, and implementing test automation practices; creating best practices for testing platform software; building test automation frameworks using programming language such as JAVA; building tools such as Gradle and Maven by utilizing CI/CD pipelines.
