- Architect, design, implement, test and deliver highly scalable products.
- Master our development process, culture and code base, then improve it.
- Operate effectively in the hybrid engineering model where engineers are expected to be able to design and execute the necessary work to ensure quality in their own code as well as other engineers'.
- Mentor others in development technologies, tools, and processes
- Present your own designs to internal/external groups and review designs of others
- Guide the team to develop test strategies, design automation frameworks, write unit/functional tests to drive up code coverage and automation metrics.
- Design and see through implementation 3rd party APIs and integrations with dozens of internal and external services.

What you will bring to the team:
The Salesforce Engineering team is an essential contributor to the health of the services/products we provide for our customers. We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer to join our team and execute on Salesforce initiatives. Experience with the Salesforce ecosystem is not required - we will train in all of these technologies. You will have:
Expert-level experience with Java, Apex or a similar modern programming language. Show us you’ve solved non-trivial engineering problems with your language and we’ll be interested in you.
Experience leading large implementations for enterprise organizations, including designing solutions
Strong knowledge of object oriented programming and experience with at least one object oriented programming language
Strong understanding of web technologies, such as JavaScript, CSS, HTML5, XML, JavaScript, and/or JSON
Solid understanding of Database technologies and relational database schema design
Experience in automated testing and testing methodologies is a bonus
Excellent communication skills
Excellent project management skills with the ability to organize and prioritize the work with a forward thinking mindset
Experience of working with Salesforce is a big plus
Experience mentoring junior engineers, and helping teams improve over time.
A bias towards building relationships and consensus - be able to articulate your opinions, listen well and integrate input from others.
An interest in learning new things, from the overall business context, to new tools and technologies, to fundamentals of good software development; and, a willingness to teach the same to others.
Our Salesforce Architecture
Salesforce at Opploans is used more than just a CRM. We are the source of truth for most data in Origination and Servicing and the back office tool to access the rest. Our development processes are built around multiple releases a week supported by CI/CD, custom built linters, automated environment spin up, a strong product organization, and quality-oriented development practices. Our development is full stack requiring developers to write code in Salesforce’s frontend framework, as well its backend development, and finally manage its data structures on the database side. We are using the latest tools salesforce provides including starting to design and develop on Salesforce’s event bus technology “Platform Events”.
