Our need for quality Linux Engineers goes beyond the classical server infrastructure. We need to provide the same top tier support and innovation for an even more diverse support base on the Linux Desktop front.

As a Linux Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and supporting Linux desktops and their infrastructure. You will provide assistance and help mentor users new to Linux and collaborate with the more experienced on solving new challenges. You will help people navigate its inner workings so they can quickly and effectively get their jobs done. In this role, you will have an opportunity to regularly collaborate with a number of development groups to provide support and guidance. You will make an impact that helps move DRW forward.

What you’ll be working on:

• Designing, building and maintaining our Linux Desktop environments across all offices
• Actively monitoring the health of our Linux Desktop environment; performing day to day troubleshooting with end users
• Application packaging and maintenance of software repositories
• Automating repetitive system administration tasks
• Evaluating and recommending new hardware and software technologies or solutions

You will be right at home if you have:

• Extensive Linux support and engineering experience in a high availability corporate environment
• Strong Ubuntu or Debian experience
• Scripting and automation experience with one or more of the following: bash, Python, Ruby
• Experience working with configuration management tools, ideally Ansible or Puppet
• Solid understanding of general technical concepts like Kerberos, DNS, DHCP, networking
