Job Description: As the manager of technical operations you will lead a team of site reliability, platform, and dev-ops engineers responsible for the day to day support of Vivid Seats infrastructure and tooling. This role spans a variety of functions and technologies that will impact all Vivid Seats delivery teams. We are looking for a leader who can be hands on if needed and has experience building and leading highly technical, operations focused teams.
Responsibilities:
- Attract, develop, coach, and retain high-performance team members
- Define, run, and grow our Site Reliability Engineering function
- Hands-on design, implementation, monitoring and maintenance of AWS production and development environments
- Identify and deliver infrastructure and architectural projects aimed at improving uptime, security, availability, capacity and performance
- Promote development best practices such as BDD, TDD, and pair programming in a fast-paced Agile environment
- Roadmap and budget infrastructure and 3rd party tools
Requirements:
- 4+ years of successfully leading and mentoring a team of engineers with a strong preference on operations and DevOps
- 4+ years of experience in an AWS environment utilizing VPC, ECS, Kubernetes, S3, RDS MySQL
- 10+ years of experience in software development and deployment
- 4+ years managing environment (Linux) changes and code deployments
- Experience in a fast paced, Agile, continuous integration environment
- Prior experience designing and implementing infrastructure automation tools (e.g. Chef, Ansible, Docker, Terraform etc)
- Prior experience with PCI, HIPAA, SOX, or other compliance processes is a plus
- Demonstrate strong problem analysis problem resolution and decision-making and judgment skills
