The ENGINEERING Team

The Role

 

This Managing Engineer will lead a team of software developers, testers, and analysts in the ongoing development of our flagship Insurance mobile product. This individual will have people management and product delivery responsibilities and will work in concert with Arity Product Managers.  The Lead Engineer will lead mobile architecture and engineering efforts for IOS and Android software components that will provide a best in class mobile application for Usage Based Insurance.

 

Responsibilities

•Lead a team of 30 mobile engineers, testers, and analysts in the development of new and existing mobile software components to be used in Arity and customer mobile products.
•Serve as lead architect and lead engineer.
•Work with IOS, Android, and Java cloud based engineering teams, QA leads to plan, design, troubleshoot and test mobile software components.
•Implement and maintain best practices in mobile development, testing, and release.
•Generate and gather from others requirements for products.
•Work with product managers to develop product roadmaps.
•Plan product releases.
•Deliver a high degree of customer service to internal and external product teams (your customers) as they are sold to and on-boarded, and as they develop and release mobile apps using Arity mobile software components.
•Work with pre-sales Arity Solutions Engineers as they develop mobile solutions for potential Arity customers.
•Work with Customer Relationship Managers to resolve issues and otherwise deliver customer service.
•Develop, guide, and mentor team members.
•Work cross-culturally to communicate, collaborate, and lead.
•Conduct performance reviews.
•Interview potential candidates for addition to team.
•Ensure information security compliance.
•Participate in Change Management and Operational Readiness.
•Be a force for good.

 

Qualifications

 

•Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
•Broad and immersive experience in both IOS and Android full stack development.
•Able to speak intelligently to architectural and engineering issues of both mobile platforms and to work with platform experts in the planning, design, development, testing, and troubleshooting of mobile software components.
•Experience with Agile Scrum and/or Agile XP.
•Able to work across multiple cultures with demonstrated cross-cultural awareness.
•Ability to deliver presentations and product updates to co-workers at a variety of levels.
•Demonstrated architectural and engineering skills.
•Able to articulate architectural philosophy and guiding principles.
•Knowledge of the construction and operation of backend APIs.
•Experience in leading and managing technical professionals.
•Able to think big-picture and to be able to develop a product vision.
•Experience in production support of large scale systems.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
