Description
Individual will be a part of the US Metallurgical Engineering team conducting Failure & Metallurgical Analysis.
Job Duties
Responsibilities will include conducting metallurgical analysis on construction and mining equipment components. The analysis will include service returns, PPAP's to support sourcing projects, shop problems or design enhancements. The individual will be expected to learn the basics of lab testing, ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy as well as to summarize reports that are of the highest quality and accuracy. This team member will be interacting with senior engineers and managers within the team as well as the group's clients. As such a dedication to customer service, complete professionalism, good teamwork and a willingness to learn are keys to success.
Basic Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor's in one of the following engineering disciplines: Materials Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering or Metallurgical Engineering. Applicants must have graduated from an ABET accredited engineering program.
Applicants must be pursuing or have completed one of the degrees listed above at an accredited school. Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.7/4.0 and be legally authorized to work in the United States upon graduation. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply.

Preference will be given to candidates with 2 or more years of relevant professional experience including: ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation; Familiarity with metrological traceability and use of metrological instruments; Use of statistical analysis to quantify process performance and improvements; And in-depth understanding of ASTM specifications for tensile, Charpy impact, Rockwell hardness, microhardness, and spectroscopic chemistry analysis of ferrous metals.

This position requires less than 10% travel.
