Are you a skilled System Administrator?
We have an immediate opening for a System Administrator to join our growing IT Operations team. This position is based in our Chicago IL office. As a System Administrator, the work will encompass after hours system monitoring, issue resolution and after hours IT operations duties in support of Origami Risk information systems and services.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform proactive system monitoring, verifying the integrity, availability and performance of the infrastructure environment, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
- Identify, diagnose and correct issues related to system services, operating systems, software, utilities, AWS environment and other ancillary services.
- Address and resolve critical system issues after hours including notification, escalation and coordination across the organization.
- Conduct routine database maintenance and monitoring activities.
- Configuration, maintenance and setup of monitoring on new devices.
- Regularly communicate status of incidents and requests with customers and key stakeholders as dictated by the severity and circumstances of the incident.
- Maintain updated documentation of all in-progress and completed projects in appropriate systems as required by team management.
- Create and maintain system documentation for organizational technologies, including installation, configuration, and appropriate troubleshooting steps.
- Address JIRA requests for specific areas related to system access, database access requests, or IT help tickets.
Qualifications
Willing to work 3rd shift from 12 AM to 8 AM CST
The successful candidate can demonstrate a general understanding of technology used by the company; describes basic technological concepts and terminology; applies standard IT technology in daily work; has good communication skills and will have clearly demonstrated experience and working knowledge of:
- NOC or technical support role
- System/Service Monitoring and alerting
- Assessing, remediating and escalating issues
- Supporting Microsoft technologies and networked computing environments (Windows Server, MS SQL, IIS, Active directory, Linux etc.)
- Intermediate knowledge of network configurations, protocols and operations
- Basic knowledge of configuration management systems
- Deployments in a Public Cloud such as AWS
- Asset, Configuration and Patch Management
- Jira Trouble Ticketing system or equivalent
Education/Certifications
Bachelors Degree in CS or a CS/IT related discipline is preferred, with at least three years of related professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
