The Performance Engineer specializing in web application performance will have a significant impact on product development. This individual will help ensure that our HCM platform is performant and scalable, and provide tools and guidance for developers to do so on their own features.

Requirements

Desired Skills and Experience

• Demonstrated understanding of the HTTP protocol, web applications with ability to pinpoint performance risks by interpreting output (e.g., network latency graphs, stack trace profiles)

• Previous experience(ideally 5+ yrs) implementing and maintaining performance testing suites using tools (e.g. Microsoft Load and Performance Testing Framework) and providing analysis of the results

• Experience with real-time site evaluation tools (e.g. AppDynamics)

• Must understand DB bottlenecks and caching infrastructures

• Experience working in a fast-paced Agile/Scrum development shop

• Commitment to documentation best practices so your code can be consumed in an open source environment

 

Preferred

• Real-world experience developing in C#

• Experience with continuous integration systems (e.g., Jenkins, TravisCI) and automated provisioning tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)

• Full stack performance engineering capabilities, ranging from instrumenting front-end (e.g. JavaScript) to back-end

• Contributor to or consumer of Open Source Frameworks

• Understanding of content delivery on a global scale, its challenges and how to solve them

 

During the last three months, you would have:

• Designed, implemented, executed, and analyzed performance, load, and stress tests for services, applications, and infrastructure

• Incorporated performance evaluation into our continuous integration process, including both backend and front-end metrics

• Established best practices for performance testing across the organization

• Worked with teams to understand performance liabilities, and contribute advice and/or code for implementing improvements

• Shared performance metrics to be consumed across the organization, including any necessary reporting infrastructure

• Worked with development to triage and troubleshoot performance issues in production
