Job Duties
The SDET, Performance Testing on the Quality Assurance team will be responsible for identifying and implementing the testing approach, design for a suite of Web, Webservice and mobile applications. This resource will ensure performance requirements are tested effectively and play a vital role in test script creation, execution and analysis.
Job Duties

  • Responsible for doing identifying test cases from NFR, designing performance test scenarios, executing tests, and report out the results.
  • Create performance defects for issues identified during performance testing and follow up with Product Development team for resolution.
  • Use monitoring, reporting and data mining tools to assist with analyzing performance and capacity related tests.
  • Execute capacity and performance experiments to determine scaling and utilization parameters for various service tiers.
  • Execute Performance Tests on Mobile Applications, both iOS and Android using various UI automation tools and techniques.
  • Perform testing of Mobile applications on real devices on premises and over the network, and on virtual device simulators.
  • Proactively bring issues and problems to the attention of the team; generating, proposing, and implementing innovative solutions to solve them.
  • Be meticulous about documentation of all test cases and test results.
  • Ensure that all tests are executed and give regular feedback to the team on the status of quality.
  • Use appropriate measures and KPIs to validate and report out Performance Test Results.
  • Work closely with the software engineering team, Product Management, Technical Operations, Senior Management, and business users as required.
  • Be a creative thinker who can quickly identify and test for functional 'edge cases' outside of expected functionality workflow.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of Experience creating performance test scripts in JMeter and solving problems pertaining to JMeter implementations.
  • 2+ years of Experience in writing custom actions using Groovy for Jmeter
  • 2+ years of Experience in writing custom library files in Java.
  • 1+ years of Experience in testing mobile applications.
  • 1+ years of Experience in API Testing (Rest-Assured, Requests)
  • Familiarity in integrating JMeter with Continuous Integration tools (e.g., Jenkins, Hudson)
  • 1+ years of Experience in running JMeter in AWS, and testing cloud hosted applications.
  • Ability to use source Code Management Tools (e.g., Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, TFS, RTC, SVN) as test script repository.
  • IDE (e.g., Eclipse, Visual Studio, XCode, Android Studio, Atom, Sublime, Anaconda)
  • Ability to problem solve, design and apply creativity to various software problems
  • Ability to build & analyze large, highly scalable performant solutions.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of management.
  • Technical Presentation Skills.


Bonus

  • Certification in various cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure.
  • Understanding/experience in testing micro-services or interactive web tools using web frameworks (Flask, Django, FastAPI etc.).
  • Good understanding of industry-leading web platforms (Vue, React etc.)
  • Familiarity with Mobile Test Automation tools (e.g., Perfecto Mobile, Appium)
