Department OverviewThe Cloud Infrastructure team is responsible for the development and operations of critical cloud infrastructure and platform services, in support of Motorola Solutions' public and hybrid cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise division, which offers secure, reliable and efficient team communications, workflow and operational intelligence solutions for mission critical public safety and enterprise markets throughout the world. Our services leverage Cloud Computing infrastructure on AWS to build at scale.
The Cloud Infrastructure team is responsible for:
- Design and implementation of the continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipeline into multiple public cloud regions
- Development and operation of common platform services that can be leveraged by our SaaS solutions moving forward
- Overall reliability and security of these services and the environments they are run in
- Monitoring and support for these platform and infrastructure services, as well as metrics collection and reporting related to them
Job Description
Motorola Solutions is looking for System and Software Engineers to join the Cloud Infrastructure Engineering Identity and Access Management team.
As a senior engineer on this team, you will be a key contributor to platform development activities. The right individual will be motivated and will have a passion for automation, deployment processes, and enabling innovation. Your efforts will help to shape engineering culture and best practices across Motorola Solutions’ Software Enterprise organization.
Responsibilities will include:
Scope, design, and development of custom software and system solutions that centralize customer identity and access management
Work with Cloud Infrastructure Engineering team members to build a robust Continuous Integration, Delivery and Deployment platform
Develop automation tools and services to minimize delivery time and increase developer productivity.
On-call, night, and weekend work are occasionally required for services developed by the team
Qualifications:
BS in Computer Science (or equivalent degree or equivalent industry experience)
Experience in the development and systems engineering of customer identity systems using standards like OAuth2, SAML, and OpenId Connect
Experience mentoring more junior team members and leading development work by example
Demonstrated experience administering third party applications in a Linux/Unix environment using automation and configuration management tools
Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience being on-call for services developed by the team
Familiarity with modern development operations tooling (docker containers, Kubernetes, and similar)
Experience developing and deploying services on Microsoft Azure
Experience with identity systems like Microsoft Azure AD B2C, PingFederate, or KeyCloak
This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.
