Senior Operations Lead, Engineering
Working at Atlassian
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity. Assuming you have eligible working rights and a sufficient time zone overlap with your team, you can choose to work remotely or from an office (unless it’s necessary for your role to be performed in the office). Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
Your future team
Atlassian's mission of "Unleash the potential of every team" is the guiding light behind everything we do. We have developed well-known products that fit in the fabric of teamwork across different types of teams, and the processes to help every team succeed. Our Team Playbook includes some of the best practices to maximize the potential of every team, which is used by our customers and those who have never used an Atlassian product.
The Engineering Operations group's mission is to allow the Engineering Organization to move faster by identifying initiatives that accelerate our success and scale. We wake up thinking how can we move from good to great. We lead programs and communicate with partners across the business to ensure we implement opportunities for increased speed, integration and impact, ensuring accountability not just for our own team but for the entire Engineering Org. You will report to the Group Program Manager of CTO Operations.
You'll get to:

- Help deliver important strategy and operational planning efforts in partnerships with other teams including Finance, TPgMs and Engineering leaders
- Guide new ideas toward pilot and manage existing programs working with the CTO and the Engineering Leadership team
- Identify the causes of operational inefficiencies and apply a strategic approach to solutions
- Partner with Engineering leaders and other partner teams to identify new initiatives, and define clear goals and success criteria
- Align and guide team members across the Engineering organization to translate these goals into reality and successful outcomes
- Exercise continuous improvement, to get the most out of teams
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- 5+ years of experience with operations and demonstrated experience operationalizing practices at scale
- Ability to context-switch frequently
- Experience with delivery and ability to balance trade-offs as you influence teams toward successful end product(s)
- Experience and passion in learning new technologies
- Knack for building alliances and partnerships across the business as you find creative solutions to high visibility questions
- Eager and able to soar at strategic levels and dive into details to deliver concrete outcomes
- Outstanding track record with cross functional partners
It's great, but not required, if you have:
- Atlassian knowledge or DNA
- Experience in change management, culture evolution and org development
- Experience with building and scaling at high-growth companies with a distributed work style
