Job Description

TITLE: Manager, Chip Payment Development

DUTIES: Diners Club International Ltd. seeks Manager, Chip Payment Development in Riverwoods, IL to build new generation of D-PAS payment products. D-PAS is Discover payment application specification, which represents Discover suite of chip based products. Manage development of EMV and D-PAS based chip products across card processing partners. EMV is a global standard for chip card products, and the standard is maintained by EMVCo. Discover is a stakeholder of EMVCo. Work directly with Discover’s global test tools vendors, own all the test tool qualification processes and be their primary point of contact. Provide technical subject matter expertise and support to the vendors with questions on specifications and certification. Build compliance standards and requirements for D-PAS products. Define testing requirement for Discover’s DP AS Solutions and Authorization systems and accordingly evaluate partners’ products (test tool) compliance to accredit them as Discover’s testing partners. Design, develop and test new generation payment products such as QR code based payments, 3D-Secure based payments. Participate in global industry effort to redefine the entire EMB chip terminal and card related standard with NextGen. Build D-PAS to adhere to NextGen standards. Manage Discover’s test laboratory and maintain industry standard security infrastructure for the lab. Represent Discover in industry forums in technical standards development and specification development. Contribute as a Primary member of EMVCo’s TAWG (Terminal Approval Working Group) to define their CHIP contact and contactless specifications testing requirement and evaluating partners’ products. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to require standards and processes.

REQUIREMENTS : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Applications or a related quantitative field and eight (8) years of progressively responsible experience: supporting development of EMV contact and contactless based chip products in the payment industry; developing point of sale applications for accepting credit and debit card payments; developing software products using C, C++, Java, and Waterfall and Agile software development methodologies. Five (5) years of experience must include working with 3DES, AES, RSA, and ECC encryption standards; and implementing ISO 8583/14443/20022/7816, EMV 3D-Secure, and QR standards.
