About the role

We’re building a smarter choice for car insurance and want you to join us on this mission. Clearcover is growing and our Engineering team is looking for a Production Support Engineer to own our deployments, monitor production application performance, triage production issues and support our Customer Advocates when they need a technical hand.

As you develop a deeper knowledge of our technology and infrastructure, you will have the opportunity to grow in the role and expand your day to day responsibilities. This role is only bounded by what you make of it. Come ready to learn.

Roles & Responsibilities

· Own the deployment and monitoring of our various applications and services.

· Learn, master and improve our deployment automation tools and automated acceptance test suite.

· Work across many problem domains to help identify performance and reliability issues.

· Work with product owners and engineers to create and execute test plans.

· Monitor our applications and services using tools like Sumologic, New Relic and Sentry. 

· Triage production issues: quickly resolve or escalate to the engineering team.

· Develop and automate regular reporting related to performance and reliability.

Requirements

· Practical knowledge of web application architectures and lifecycle.

· Experience using a version control system like git.

· Comfortable in a unix command line.

· Ability to thrive in a team-oriented, highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.

· Ability to prioritize individual tasks and document issues with exquisite attention to detail.

· Ability to engage productively with project stakeholders from engineering, product, customer advocacy and othe­­­­­­­­r teams.

· Ability to lead projects through completion.

· Uncommon intuition, smarts and desire to improve.

Bonus Points

· Experience analyzing stack traces and error logs.

· Experience with Sumologic, New Relic, Sentry, Periscope or similar software.

· Experience with ruby, python and/or other programming languages.

· Experience with SQL.

· Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
