Quality Assurance Analyst

We are looking for a QA Analyst to be responsible for testing websites and web applications, ensuring the highest levels of quality and customer satisfaction in the work that we deliver to our clients. As the first QA resource at Adage, you will have the opportunity to shape both the role and our QA processes. You will be working with scrum teams to plan and complete end to end feature testing within the project timeline and budget, proactively identifying defects and areas of risk and working with the team on potential mitigation options.
The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a passion for quality and an inquisitive nature, a strong understanding of web UX best practices and is able to work independently as well as with cross-functional teams. The candidate will also have the desire to create QA standards and the tenacity to implement and advocate for QA processes. Additionally, the candidate will introduce automated testing to the QA process where applicable, by creating test frameworks and writing and maintaining automated test scripts.
What you’d be doing:
- Work with Scrum team to define user stories/requirements during planning, scrutinize requirements and identify test cases and potential edge cases. Outline full feature testing in a comprehensive plan for entire websites.
- Create and execute manual test cases to verify that delivered functionality meets all visual, usability, functional and compliance standards as defined by the user story.
- Create appropriate test data as determined by the test case.
- Create and execute regression tests, exploratory tests, cross- browser and mobile device testing, stress and load testing (when necessary) and post-deployment testing.
- Create bugs in JIRA with clear expected results and steps to reproduce.
- Guide clients in UAT process, provide assistance and test data as necessary. Responsible for UAT tracking and follow-ups with client and Product Owner/Scrum Master.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis or missed issues or UAT failures.
- Identify and implement QA process improvements by creating QA standards and checklists to be used by all Scrum teams.
We want someone who has:
- 2+ years of QA experience and a background in web technologies.
- Experience with creating test plans, test cases, test scripts.
- Experience with implementing QA standards and processes with a technology team or experience working on teams with strong QA standards in place.
- Must be able to learn quickly and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience testing with integrated systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently prioritize defects and raise critical defects to the appropriate team members as necessary.
- Testing experience from prototypes to MVP to maintenance releases.
- Experience with usability testing is a plus.
- Ecommerce or CMS experience a plus.
- Scrum experience is a plus.
- Previous experience with automation and load testing tools is a plus.
