Quality Assurance Lead Engineer (6 month contract)
The Quality Assurance Lead will be responsible for developing, applying, and maintaining quality standards with adherence to both internal and external standards.
As a member of the technical/process QA division, you will design functional, integration, and regression test plans. The candidate will be responsible for building and executing manual and automated tests for multiple projects.
Your Responsibilities
High-Level scope of work includes but is not limited to:
- Develop and execute platform, integration, and email campaign test plans
- Analyze and author test standards and procedures
- Author and maintain documentation of test results
- Analyze test results and deduce recommendation for corrective action
The work flow of the Quality Assurance Lead is non-routine, involving the application of technical/business skills. The candidate will be expected to act as Leading contributor individually and as a team member (e.g. providing direction and mentoring to others.) Emotional resilience and attention to detail will be an on-going area of focus.
- Responsible for writing detailed test plans and test scripts based on Solution Specifications (Functional and Technical Requirements)
- Organize and manage all phases of the software testing process, including planning tests, executing tests, logging bugs, and tracking defects
- Work in important phases of the testing life cycle like smoke testing, integration testing, system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Jointly responsible for setting up and maintaining a testing infrastructure, designing and implementing or managing the various test levels within a sprint
- Participate in client-facing stand-ups and weekly status meetings coordinated by the Project Manager
- Collaborate with Product Owners and wider QA and Development teams to ensure proper quality
- Will be a leader and mentor for the team
Your Background:
- 5+ years of experience in quality assurance for web software projects
- Experience with e-commerce software, API integration, Email Service Providers
- Certification according to ISTQB or an agile test certification such as iSQI CAT is advantageous is desired
- Skilled in working with open source browser test frameworks (e.g. WebdriverIO, Selenium WebDriver, Nightwatch.js, Galen)
- Familiar with common QA tools and have practical experience with test automation
- Hands-on experience with BDD and TDD and know tools like Cucumber, Selenium, etc
- High degree of independence, a sense of responsibility and an eye for detail
- Fundamental understanding of JavaScript and PHP development and understanding of interfaces in a microservice architecture such as REST or SOAP
- Experience working with both waterfall and agile methodologies
