Job Description
TITLE: Release Train Engineer
DUTIES: DFS Corporate Services LLC seeks Release Train Engineer in Riverwoods, IL to be responsible for Agile Release Train (ART) processes and standards, program level planning, execution, and continuous improvement. Facilitate Scrum of Scrum forum, manage Program Level impediments and risks, and ensure the Release Train stays on track for program level initiatives and features delivery. Ensure transparency about the ART’s delivery, risks, and accomplishments. Establish program increments calendar. Plan and facilitate the Program Increment planning event. Aggregate team objectives into Program PI Objectives and publish for visibility and transparency. Manage and track program level execution and PI feature delivery, escalate impediments and risks (produce reports). Manage and track ART level metrics and score card. Drive program level continuous improvement and consistency across Agile Release Train via retrospectives and scrum of scrum forums. Collaborate with other RTEs for resolving prioritization, conflicts, and synchronization. Facilitate program feature grooming and manage program level backlog. Facilitate program level dependencies with other Release Trains and Shared Services. Promote a risk-aware culture to ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Applied Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation: leading cloud platform initiatives; communicating and translating technical requirements to business users and liaising between business technology and business teams; working on Java, Spring, and open source technology stack-based projects; performing API product development; and performing digital transformations to enable teams to move from waterfall to Agile. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in one of the above-listed fields and two (2) years of experience in the above-listed skills.
