What You Do:

The Reliability Engineer will be expected to leverage their expertise to work collaboratively with Uptake’s Subject Matter Experts, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to deploy advanced analytics in its APM Wind product. 

Uptake’s Asset Strategy Library (ASL) is the world’s most comprehensive knowledge base of asset types, failure mechanisms, and maintenance recommendations. You will assist in continuing to develop the depth and breadth of this knowledge base, while maintaining the current high standards for quality and accuracy. In addition, you will work closely with internal teams including software engineers, data scientists, sales, and customer success representatives, as well as customers themselves to ensure customer success.

Responsibilities:

Support internal Uptake teams, most notably Uptake’s wind Data Scientists, Product Managers, and Subject Matter Experts as required with:

  • Product development
  • Customer interactions related to areas of expertise
  • Use Uptake’s APM Wind Product to proactively identify failure and underperformance events to justify business value of the product
  • Develop, own, and manage reporting of value delivery to clients showing the value of Uptake’s analytics on customer outcomes
  • Work with Enterprise Architect team to ensure successful deployment of Uptake’s solution to industrial equipment (SCADA, PLC, CMS)
  • Travel as-needed to support clients and implementation team

 Qualifications:

 Required:

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in mechanical, industrial, or electrical engineering
  • Minimum of 8 years of wind experience in areas such as:
  • Maintenance
  • Operations
  • Asset Management
  • Reliability Engineering
  • Experience reducing faults and underperformance events to increase availability and productivity for fleet wide turbines
  • Experience with a variety of SCADA and PLC equipment, wind drivetrains
  • Experience working with various internal and external groups to identify fleet wide priority fault list
  • Experience developing root cause analysis and plans for corrective action and preliminary implementation
  • Experience providing support to Asset Management during implementation of solution
  • Understanding of reliability theory and its application to maintenance strategies
  • Ability to contribute individually and as part of an expert team
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication, including creating and delivering presentations


Preferred:

  • PE certification
  • SaaS / PaaS or big data experience
  • Startup experience

Location

We are located in River North just right off the Chicago Brown Line stop. We also provide you with a free shuttle service to/from Ogilvie and Union.
