Caterpillar Remanufacturing Division currently has an opening for a Senior Engineer Design supporting Remanufactured Perkins Engine Product located in Franklin, IN. This position will direct and participate in the concept and design of complex engineering product or process projects for release to production in a manner to ensure products provide superior performance, durability, quality, and serviceability.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • This position represents the journey level position within design engineering.
  • The key role of a Sr. Engineer- Design is that of contributor to the planning and delivery of a project. This position will be accountable for contributing to the concept, development, and design of complex components, subsystems, or processes.
  • This position performs complex analysis work, identifies design problems, and resolves problems.
  • Although this position may be the transition from individual contributor to team leadership, the major focus of the job is on technical delivery. Incumbents may work more directly with different units, suppliers, customers, and/or other teams.
  • This requires the ability to communicate technical information in a concise and accurate manner.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in an accredited Engineering or Materials Science curriculum plus 9- 1 2 years of experience.

  • Incumbents must have demonstrated excellent analytical skills and the ability to perform complex assignments.
  • Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills.
  • Must have ability to communicate technical information effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well as employees in other units, customers, and suppliers.
