Infrastructure Architect

The IT Infrastructure Architect will be responsible for evaluating and designing complex IT infrastructure solutions across a vast range of technologies within the IT Resiliency Team. The Architect must have strong communications and technical skills to assess, design, and implement solutions for Disaster Recovery (DR) testing. As an expert, the architect will work with cross function infrastructure and application owners to assess requirements, design, and deliver a complex testing environment, and implement technical solutions. This hands-on role must have strong data center, networking, security, storage, virtualization, database, and middleware solutions for open systems.

Responsibilities:

As an expert, the IT Infrastructure Architect will be on a team that will deliver technical resiliency solutions to the organization, utilizing the latest technologies and leveraging automation mechanisms for reducing recovery times.

  • Performs analysis of complex functional and business requirements. Prepares and delivers solutions for others. Leads design activities, working with architects from various technical teams. signs, prepares and executes unit tests.
  • Demonstrates technical expertise and exerts influence outside of immediate team. Develops innovative team solutions to complex problems. Contributes to strategic direction for teams.
  • Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge to provide maintenance solutions across one or more technology areas (e.g. Database Administration).
  • Performs solution design in collaboration with multiple stakeholders. Applies new technologies and leads design of highly complex infrastructure and software solutions.
  • Independently implements end- user or enterprise infrastructure or services of significant complexity.
  • Integrates technical expertise and business understanding to create superior solutions for the Resiliency Team.
  • Evaluate, develop, and oversee resiliency strategy across development and engineering teams.
  • Advance the DR automation effort of applications and business capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with teams participating in strategic planning, facilitating cross-team solution reviews and communicating strategy direction.
  • Maintain an effective technical network across technical SMEs and architects for multiple service areas
  • Define and lead innovation and technology experiments in private, public and hybrid cloud at enterprise scale

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years as Technical Architect/Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer operating at enterprise scale
  • Advanced technical problem-solving skills
  • Practical experience in both technology infrastructure and application development architectures
  • Infrastructure and service architecture & engineering experience, including functional and technical requirements gathering, and solution development
  • Strong system analysis and service development experience
  • Practical experience operating in an Agile development environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial or Regulatory domain experience a plus
  • VMWare vRO experience a plus
  • Service Now experience a plus
  • 4+ years of DR experience
