Join Rally Health as Senior Architect where you will lead a major architecture transformation. As part of the team, you will report to the VP of Engineering and work with engineering leadership, other engineering teams and product.

The team manages the digital experience (myuhc.com & United Health Care mobile app) that fronts the UnitedHealth Group(UHG) business and provides the first impression to a customer when accessing the information digitally that enables the customer to meet their needs. Our focus is to provide the Summary information to the Customer and to help them quickly navigate to the appropriate area’s of the site to get their goals accomplished. This is a new team that has been formed to consolidate all aspects of member facing sites for the UHG Lines of business..

The customer experience is available on web and mobile. Over 30 million consumers have access to our solutions. Some main technologies used are: React, React Native, Angular, Java, Scala, Play, Akka, Kafka, Spark, HDFS, MongoDB, mySQL, Docker, Mesos, Marathon and Jenkins.

You will

  • Architect and build scalable systems, libraries, and frameworks
  • Create overall technical vision and architecture
  • Research areas of investment in strategic plans that maintain competitive advantage
  • Evaluate new technologies
  • Mentor engineers and keep the engineering bar high

About you

  • 10+ years industry experience building and running large-scale systems in production
  • Expert level domain knowledge
  • Command of Scala, or command of Java or C#
  • Experience with modern JS libraries and frameworks like Angular and React
  • Experience with distributed systems and application design in a SOA environment
  • Knowledge of high-scale performance and optimization tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of database concepts (both NoSQL and RDBMS)
  • Knowledge of building applications with Content Management System
  • Knowledge of computing concepts including API design, creating, fault tolerance, available and scalable distributed systems, multithreaded programming, performance tuning, and security
  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical role or equivalent experience
