This is a full time Senior Associate Agile Developer on the Discover Banking and Lending Build team. The team is responsible for development of fixes for production environment issues utilized by the Banking and Lending department. This Position is for an Agile team support. Key Responsibilities:
- Works as a project team member on smaller, moderately complex tasks
- Effectively and efficiently communicate systems solutions to business problems to team members and business unit representatives
- Take ownership of the implementation and production operations of a wide array of Core System platform solutions
- Familiarity with Jenkins, Hudson, Bamboo, JIRA and other continuous integration tools
- Familiarity with Agile Scrum, Kanban, or Lean software development practices is a plus
- Play the role of a Technical Lead and review technical design specifications created by offshore team and suggest changes as needed
- Participate in Grooming sessions and other Agile ceremonies to help groom the User stories from technical stand point
- Assists testing team with the identification, creation, and maintenance of test data
- Experience of working in an Agile Development environment
- Familiarity with development practices like Unit Testing, Test-Driven Development
- Familiarity with one or more scripting and/or programming languages and/or tools
- Promote a risk-aware culture, ensure efficient and effective risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required standards and processes
Skills:
Required Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Programming/Systems, Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
- Requires 1-3 years of programming experience
- Requires working knowledge of java scripting language and JUnit testing
- Comfort with frequent, incremental code, testing and deployment
- Working knowledge of Kanban, scrum or other agile software development methodologies
- Excellent communication (written and oral), interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to work with both technical and non-technical business partners
- Ability to work well in a team environment as well as independently
- Highly motivated individual with a strong work ethic
Desired Skills:
- Experience with multi-threaded application development
- Basic project management skills
- Experience with Agile or Iterative project delivery methodology
- Knowledge of banking transaction processing
- Familiarity with Oracle and SQL Server Database environments
- Experience with DevOps tools such as Jenkins, CI/CD concepts and GIT is a plus
