Job Description:
The Discover Cybersecurity Data Science Team is the focal point for cybersecurity risk analytics, metrics and reporting in the organization. Our team is looking for talented candidate to utilize their Unix/Linux, scripting, data integration and other technical skills to operate and enhance the security risk analytics and metrics solutions. The position is ideal for individuals interested in working in the captivating world of cybersecurity, and it has growth potential for cybersecurity data analytics.
The team plays an integral role in supporting the organizations security mission by driving Security First in strategies and behaviors. We work closely with functional areas of the company including Security, Compliance, Risk Management, Legal, IT teams and lines of business to manage cyber risk to the company. In addition, the team incorporates security methodologies into their programs, communicates with stakeholders, ensures cybersecurity practices align with business requirements, integrates and manages processes, collects data, performs analytics, measures and reports risk.
This is a highly competitive position, and applicants should have strong technical skills, academic background (or desired experience) and excellent communication, writing, critical thinking, analytics, and advanced research skills. Demonstrated interest and knowledge of cybersecurity or technology is required.

The Data Analyst will:
- Operate and enhance security analytic and metrics solutions.
- Integrate data and systems to gain new capabilities
- Enable solutions to present data and visualizations to management; provide input into new operational processes; perform data quality analysis, assist in tool selection, automation and strategies.
- Prepare, review, revise, and maintenance of technical documents and deliverables; grammar concepts, editing, proof reading and revision maintenance will be used.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate security analytic and metrics solutions.
- Integrate and manage data source feeds.
- Ensure event flow disruption is minimized and appropriate data testing is performed.
- Enhance and develop automation to enhance processes, data, and analytic solutions and capabilities.
- Analyze operations to identify key issues, trends, and other observations for management attention.
- Promote a risk-aware culture; ensure effective security, risk and compliance management practices by adhering to required policy, standards and processes.
- Produce reports within specified deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain documentation as needed.
- Carry a messaging device; Minimal off-hours support.
Required Qualifications
Proficiency in Unix/Linux Operating Systems, Unix/Linux shell scripting or API programming.
Knowledge of basic data structures, SQL or other database query languages.
Understanding of technical terminology and infrastructure designs.
Knowledge of new and emerging IT and information security technologies.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills;Ability to communicate complex and technical issues to diverse audiences, verbally and in writing.
Strong analytical and decision-making capabilities; Ability to perform analysis of complex problems and distill relevant findings and solutions.
Ability to successfully work under pressure while maintaining a professional image.
Ability to be organized and detailed-oriented.Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn new methods and techniques and apply gained knowledge to implement creative solutions.
Ability to work independently when required but also be able to function as part of a team.
Desired Skills
Experience with: Data Mining, Programming/Scripting/Query Languages (such as Bash programming, Node.js, Go, Python, Perl or SQL), DevOps, Algorithms, Computer Architecture, Data Structures, Logic and Computation, Programming Principles/Paradigms, Computer Cryptography, Computer Network Architecture and Protocols, Data Communications Networks, Intelligent Systems, Network Security, Operating Systems Theory, Computer Engineering, Database Administration, Engineering, Physics, Information Management, Telecommunications, Net-centric computing, Network Administration, Program/Project Management, System Administration, System Engineering.Proficiency in advanced Excel, R Analytics, or other data analytics tools.Knowledge/Experience with technology tools: AWS technologies, Git.Security-focused certification(s); Knowledge of current industry methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security assessment, monitoring, detection and remediation tools and procedures utilizing standards-based concepts and capabilities.Knowledge of network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., application of Defense-in-Depth).Work Experience DesiredPreferred; 1+ years of on the job or academic experience in cybersecurity, analytics, programming, Unix/Linux administration, or related fields.
