About the Position
As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be part of the core team that is responsible for empowering the company with data/ The position will be working on our transactional, streaming, and analytics platform ensuring the tools and systems are designed for scale to help our engineers, product managers and analysts make better decisions and drive insights with data. Raise is looking for an individual that has a background in distributed applications, data streaming, and NOSQL and SQL databases.
Responsibilities
- Select, build, and configure solutions that use open source platforms to support our operational, streaming and analytical systems ensuring they are robust, scalable and well monitored
- Implement data pipelines to automate the ingestion, transformation, and augmentation of both structures and semi-structured data sources while also providing the best practices for pipeline operations
- Work with Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and various business groups to implement solutions using an iterative approach
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong programming expertise in one of the following: Java, Python, Ruby, GoLang
- Experience in batch ETL systems like Apache, Airflow, Spark, Talend, Alooma or Nifi
- Experience in streaming systems like Kafka, Kinesis or other pub/sub systems
- Experience in concept of deployment as code using technologies as Terraform, Puppet, Chef, Ansible, or Salt
- Experience using relational databases, preferably MySQL or Postgres
- Experience of database deployment tools such as Liquibase or Flyway
- Expertise in using cloud technologies
- Test-driven development experience is a plus
- Experience with using Kubernetes and Docker is a plus
- Experience in CI/CD tools such as Vagrant or Jenkins is a plus
