We are currently seeking a Senior Search Engineer to join our Engineering Practice on a full time basis. 

Knowledge & Experience:

  • Experience in designing and building solutions across multiple use cases on search platforms (e.g. Elastic, Solr, Lucene, Lucidworks, Attivio, Coveo).
  • Understanding of search architectures and scalability for volume, redundancy, and performance scaling including techniques such as replicas and sharding.
  • Experience using the Search APIs to deliver highly performant custom UIs in varying languages (e.g. Node.js, Java, .NET)
  • Defining data ingest pipelines to index, transform and enrich structured and unstructured data types from Enterprise and Cloud data sources.
  • Experience with security integration (Role-based Access Control against Enterprise Data Repositories, Authentication, Encryption) in a search environment.
  • Experience with evaluating existing search deployments and identifying optimizations in terms of indexing, search and query performance tuning, security, and administration.
  • Knowledge of search architectures for different scenarios (e.g. Search vs Time Series, Single Region vs Multi-Region) and best practice in each scenario
  • Configuration of search settings and understanding of the techniques used in supporting common end-user search requirements such as multiple languages, autosuggest, spelling suggestions, separators, synonyms, and ngrams.
  • Configuration of query relevancy models including approaches such as term-centric and centric. Subsequent relevancy tuning using dynamic query approaches
  • Experience with best practices for bulk indexing, backup, and recovery
  • Experience with operational support including monitoring for large search deployments and the creation of reporting dashboards for this purpose
  • Understanding of system metrics (operations) and search analytics (end-user interactions)
  • Experience with search clusters at scale in Cloud and On-Prem environments
  • Experience building solutions for high volume data ingestion using real time integration technologies (e.g Kafka, Storm, Redis) 
  • Experience architecting search solutions in a Cloud Native landscape using containerization, orchestration, and microservices is advantageous
  • Experience architecting solutions utilizing Machine Learning and other AI technologies is advantageous
  • Experience with a variety of search and analytics platforms is advantageous.
  • Formal certification is a bonus but not required

Responsibilities:

  • Working with a Search Architect to define how a Search platform can best meet the customers’ goals and objectives
  • Ownership of the deployment, configuration, testing and support of this platform
  • Actively participating in all phases of the CXDD delivery process from initial alignment to release and support.
  • Knowledge transfer of the search platform deployment to other team or client technical resources for ongoing support.
  • Developing and maintaining a deep understanding of search products and solutions.
  • Serving as the technical point of contact for search engineering within your capability, practice, and circles.
  • Creating collateral, contributing to projects and collaborating with other Solsties to meet individual client needs.
  • Deepening your skills through self-driven education while taking advantage of the professional development opportunities provided by Solstice | Kin + Carta.

What are some social events your company does?

Kin + Carta celebrates holidays with our office in Argentina - our US offices have introduced Argentina to Halloween, and the Buenos Aires office introduced the US to “Friends Day” in July. Flexible Spending Account (FSA)
